Frequently Asked Questions
What to know before getting started
Beginning therapy often comes with questions. These answers are designed to make the process feel clearer and more comfortable.
What happens during the first session?
The first session is a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy, your history, current concerns, strengths, and goals. Diane will also explain her approach and answer questions so you can decide whether the relationship feels like a good fit.
How long does therapy last?
The length of therapy varies. Some people seek focused, short-term support, while others benefit from longer-term work. Diane will collaborate with you to review progress and adjust the plan as your needs evolve.
What issues do you treat?
Diane works with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, burnout, life transitions, emotional regulation concerns, relationship challenges, and low self-esteem.
Do you offer telehealth?
Telehealth appointments may be available. Please contact Diane directly to ask about current telehealth options and whether they are appropriate for your needs.
Do you accept insurance?
Diane currently accepts Medicare, Medicare Railroad, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware, Highmark Blue Cross, Aetna, Optum Health, UnitedHealthcare, AmeriHealth, and TRICARE. Coverage varies by plan, so clients should confirm benefits directly with their insurer.
What if I've never been to therapy?
That is completely okay. You do not need to know exactly what to say or how therapy works. Diane will help guide the conversation, explain the process, and move at a pace that feels manageable.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact Diane as soon as possible. The current cancellation policy will be reviewed during scheduling and intake.
